CROSSFIT: FUNCTIONAL FITNESS AT ITS FINEST

CrossFit is all about teaching the body to move efficiently and safely, then using this good movement under load and at velocity to create fitness. Each day the workout will train or test a different part of your functional strength or conditioning, not specializing in one particular thing, but rather with the goal of building a body that’s capable of practically anything and everything. CrossFit can be for everyone as movements can be scaled.

Train with us and you’ll also experience the difference great programming can make! This is at the heart of what we do. Workouts are not random and thrown together last minute, but rather thought out and planned over days, weeks, and months to create the greatest training benefit possible.

Good programming is not easy. It takes time, dedication, and hard work to do it right. But that’s our job, not yours. Gym owner, Joe Cebulski, was an Olympic-level Decathlete for Team USA and brings that experience and knowledge to 8th Day Gym daily.

All you have to do is come in, enjoy our welcoming team-like atmosphere, listen to our expert coaches, make some new friends, have a few laughs, give it your all. From CrossFit beginners to world champions, everyone is welcome at 8th Day Gym.

8th Day Gym has been home to elite CrossFit athletes for 7 regional and team CrossFit Games appearances as well as an individual world championship title! Athletes can scale 8th Day’s core programming down or up with coach guidance.

FAQs

  • What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a high-intensity fitness program that combines weightlifting, gymnastics, cardio, and functional movements into constantly varied workouts. It’s designed to improve your strength, endurance, agility, and overall fitness-preparing you for real-life physical challenges.

  • Do I need to be fit before starting CrossFit?

Not at all! CrossFit is infinitely scalable, meaning we can adjust every workout to match your current fitness level. Whether you’re brand new to fitness or a lifelong athlete, our coaches will tailor the experience so it works for you.

  • What happens in a typical CrossFit class?

Each class lasts about 60 minutes and includes:
    – Warm-up
    – Skill/Strength Work

    Met-Con (Metabolic Conditioning)
    – Cool-down/Stretching

    Classes are coach-led and community-driven.

  • What’s a “Met-Con”?

Met-Con stands for Metabolic Conditioning. It’s the unique workout each day that all the classes perform with scalable options based on fitness level and ability.

  • How is CrossFit different from regular gyms or boot camps?

Coaching: Every class is led by certified coaches.

Community: You’ll find unparalleled support from other members.

Programming: Constantly varied workouts rooted in functional fitness that include barbells and skilled movements.

Intensity: Workouts are designed to challenge and push your limits-safely.

  • What if I don’t know how to lift or do advanced movements?

That’s exactly what we’re here for! Our coaches are trained to teach proper form and offer scaled variations of all movements. Everyone starts somewhere, and we’re committed to helping you progress safely.

  • Is CrossFit safe?

Yes-when performed under proper supervision. Our coaches emphasize technique over intensity, and we prioritize safe progressions, mobility work, and recovery strategies. We believe good form always comes before speed or weight.

  • What kind of results can I expect?

With consistent attendance and solid nutrition, most members see:

    • Increased strength and endurance
    • Fat loss and improved body composition
    • Better mobility and coordination
    • Enhanced confidence and mental toughness
  • Can I try a class before joining?

Yes! We offer a free trial week so you can experience our coaching, community, and programming firsthand.

Just sign up online or contact us for more information.

  • How often should I do CrossFit?

Most members start with 3 to 4 classes per week, and adjust as their body adapts. Recovery is important, so we’ll help you balance effort and rest to avoid burnout.

  • What should I bring to class?

    • Athletic shoes
    • Workout clothes
    • Water bottle
    • Towel (optional)

We’ll provide all the equipment. If you have gear like grips or a belt, bring it along!

  • What is the Elements program?

Our Elements program is a beginner-friendly series of sessions that introduce you to the core CrossFit movements, safety principles, and gym flow.

It’s not required for new members but can help ensure you feel confident before jumping into group classes.

  • Do you offer nutrition coaching or personalized programs?

Yes! We believe fitness starts in the kitchen. We offer nutrition consultations, macro tracking guidance, and optional personal training for specific goals like fat loss, strength building, or competition prep.

  • How do I join and get started?

    Getting started is easy:

    1. Sign up for a free week or book a consultation.
    2. Complete our Elements program (optional).
    3. Choose a membership that fits your schedule and goals.

We’re excited to welcome you into the CrossFit community!
