FAQs
-
What is HYROX?
HYROX is a competitive fitness race that combines functional strength exercises with endurance running. It’s standardized across the world-each race consists of 8 x 1km runs, each followed by a functional workout station like sled pushes, rowing, burpee broad jumps, and more.
-
Is HYROX for beginners?
Yes! While HYROX is a race format, our HYROX gym classes are designed for all fitness levels. We scale movements and provide coaching to help you build the skills and conditioning needed, whether you’re preparing for competition or just want an incredible workout.
-
How is HYROX different from CrossFit or Boot Camps?
HYROX focuses on steady-paced endurance mixed with high-volume functional fitness.
Unlike CrossFit, there are no Olympic lifts or gymnastics, and it avoids technical complexity.
Compared to boot camps, HYROX is more objective and standardized, aiming for consistent improvement over time.
-
What happens in a HYROX class?
Our HYROX classes include:
- Warm-up – Technique and pacing work
- Workout blocks that simulate HYROX-style efforts (e.g. running + sled push, rowing + wall balls)
- Cool-down & recovery
Every class is coach-led and carefully structured.
-
Do I need to race to participate in HYROX training?
Not at all! Many members train HYROX-style for the challenge, intensity, and strength-endurance focus, even if they never plan to compete.
That said, we do offer event preparation if you want to step on the starting line.
-
What equipment is used in HYROX?
HYROX involves:
- Sled push/pull
- Rowers
- SkiErgs
- Wall balls
- Sandbags
- Kettlebells
All of this is built into our gym’s programming.
-
What kind of results can I expect from HYROX training?
Expect improved endurance, power, and mental grit. You’ll see increases in VO2 max, better functional strength, and the ability to sustain high output over time. Many members also experience positive changes in body composition and athletic performance.
-
How often should I train HYROX per week?
For general fitness, 2-3 times per week works well. If you’re preparing for a race, we recommend 4-5 weekly sessions with specific focus days on running, strength, and hybrid workouts.
-
Do you offer coaching and race prep?
Yes! Our experienced coaches help build personalized race prep strategies, pacing plans, and train you to peak on race day. We offer mock races and competition simulations regularly.
-
Can I try a class before committing?
Definitely. We offer a free trial week so you can experience the energy and structure of a HYROX workout.
Just sign up online or contact us for more information.
-
What should I bring to class?
- Running shoes
- Workout clothes
- Water bottle
- Towel (optional)
Be ready to sweat – we provide all the equipment you’ll need.
-
How do I sign up and get started?
Book your free week, or drop by the gym. We’ll introduce you to the format, answer your questions, and help you get set up with a membership or training plan that fits your goals.
